Addressing Gender-
Based Violence

Empowering women and girls to break free from cycles of abuse through advocacy, counselling, and survivor-centred support.

If you or someone you know is in danger, please contact the Malawi Police Service: 999 or reach us at +265 886 090 669.

Breaking the Cycle of Violence

Gender-based violence remains one of the most severe violations of human rights in Malawi. Domestic violence, sexual abuse, early marriage, and harassment affect women and girls at alarming rates — often in silence, due to stigma and lack of support systems.

EWDO's GBV program takes a comprehensive approach: we educate communities to change attitudes, support survivors with counselling and referrals, train local leaders as change agents, and advocate for stronger legal protections.

Our approach is survivor-centred — we listen first, and always let women lead their own healing journey.
