Empowering women and girls to break free from cycles of abuse through advocacy, counselling, and survivor-centred support.
Gender-based violence remains one of the most severe violations of human rights in Malawi. Domestic violence, sexual abuse, early marriage, and harassment affect women and girls at alarming rates — often in silence, due to stigma and lack of support systems.
EWDO's GBV program takes a comprehensive approach: we educate communities to change attitudes, support survivors with counselling and referrals, train local leaders as change agents, and advocate for stronger legal protections.
Our approach is survivor-centred — we listen first, and always let women lead their own healing journey.
Confidential, trauma-informed psychosocial support for survivors of GBV.
Campaigns that change harmful social norms and educate communities about GBV.
Connecting survivors to legal aid, police, and health services.
Working with men and boys as partners and advocates for gender equality.
Educating young people about healthy relationships, consent, and rights.
Advocating with government for stronger laws and enforcement against GBV.
EWDO provides safe, confidential spaces for survivors to access support without judgment. Our trained staff are here to listen, help, and connect you to the resources you need.
